Jessie Clise

Jessie Clise grew up riding and showing hunter/jumpers in Bellevue, Washington. She started her first colts when she was 10. In high school, she did a colt starting internship in Montana, where she later went to college, majoring in Natural Horsemanship. During college, she bought, trained, and resold horses and was known for bring a different colt to class each semester. She spent summers during college training horses for Virginia Sport Horses. After college, she moved permanently to VA and worked full time as the head trainer for VSH, where she started hundreds of colts, and put additional training and competition experience on many others. These horses were primarily draft crosses and warmbloods trained for foxhunting, trail riding, dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumpers. In 2013, Jessie bought her own farm in Manakin-Sabot, VA, where she continued training for VSH and private individuals and ran a successful riding school. She bought, trained and resold over a hundred draft crosses and warmbloods as field hunters and prospects. After seven years, Jessie decided her heart was in training and breeding more than in the riding school and she relocated to Palmyra, VA and took over Liz Booth's breeding program and horse sales business (Virginia Sport Horses).
