About

Marisa Lustig is originally from Cottonwood, Idaho. She learned to ride on the family farm at a young age. Marisa started her first colt during high school with the help of friends and family. With a strong work ethic and the colt she started in high school, Marisa attended the University of Montana Western in 2016 and graduated in 2020 with a BS in Natural Horsemanship, BS in Business Administration and an Associates of Science. Throughout her college career, Marisa learned how to put a solid foundation on colts and started several colts in colt classes and on her own during college. Following college, Marisa worked with Amber Mason for a winter. She then began a position at Wagoner Training in the spring of 2021. At Wagoner Training, Marisa continued her education in starting colts and refining ranch horses. Amber Wagoner introduced Marisa to mules and she has loved them ever since and was a natural when it came to working with the mules. From 2020-2022 Marisa began showing in Ranch Versatility through the RMBA as time allowed and plans to continue showing and improving her showing skills. Marisa has been training horses for 9 years and mules for 3 years. Marisa began taking her own clients in 2022, during her time at Wagoner Training. Marisa will be working out of Wagoner Training’s facility in Melrose, Montana for the 2024 training season. These animals will have the best care and will gain many amazing experiences that include solid arena foundation and tons of trail experience!

What clients have to say about Marisa Lustig

Testimonials

"I met Marisa Lustig fresh out of her graduation from University of Montana Western, where she studied and earned a degree in Natural Horsemanship. I hired Marisa to start and put rides on a couple of my 2-3 year old colts that summer and fall, since we were working in the same area. Marisa not only gave the colts a great start, but put them to work as well. Exposing them to many miles in mountain terrain checking cattle and fence, gathering and driving cattle, introducing them to pack saddles and packing camp gear in wild country amongst much wildlife. Marisa has a great mind for working with horses and also learns from the horse as well. I feel very fortunate to have my horses with Marisa and will have more with her in the future. They have all become safe and good minded with Marisa's guidance." ~L. Laknar
"Marisa Lustig has been working for me since May 2021. She came with a work ethic, passion and open mind to learn! She has grown exorbitantly since starting at Wagoner Training LLC, to the point that I have told her she needs to start taking her own clients starting in August 2022. I would highly recommend her training services to anyone looking for a solid foundation on your Horse or Mule!" ~A. Wagoner
