About

Kaitlyn is the owner and manager of KMH Associates LLC. She has been horse crazy ever since she could remember. Originally from Northern California, Kaitlyn started taking english riding lessons at the age 5. At the age of 8 years old, Kaitlyn received her first horse, a 28-year-old Morgan gelding named Mr.T. In 2003, a great friend introduced Kaitlyn to the world of rodeos, barrel racing, and reining. After competing on a big bay gelding named Goose in a reining pattern for the Nevada County Horseman's Rodeo Queen Pageant, Kaitlyn was amazed by Goose's reining training and athletic ability. That is when Kaitlyn's love for the discipline of reining took hold. Kaitlyn always knew she wanted to move to Montana after first visiting at the age 6. In 2007, Kaitlyn went to work in Yellowstone National Park as a horse wrangler for the summer. That experience solidified Kaitlyn's desire to move to Montana. After being accepted to Montana State University in Bozeman in 2008 in the Animal Science program. During these years, Kaitlyn rode and exercised horses for numerous horse owners and trainers throughout the Gallatin Valley. After graduation and completion of her Animal Science diploma in 2011, Kaitlyn decided to take an international gap year. In 2012, Kaitlyn started her Masters in Animal Science program at Montana State University. During her studies Kaitlyn continue to work and train with horses. Upon her completion of her Master's degree in Animal Science, Kaitlyn moved to Silver Star, Montana to help manage a 13,000-acre ranch. She restructured the ranch's horse program by adding in retired performance horses and trained them to become solid ranch horses. During this time, Kaitlyn taught the ranch owner's family and friends how to ride. She developed a successful ranch/performance horse breeding program. Kaitlyn's experience with other critters such as sheep and cattle allowed her to develop and manage a successful commercial Black Angus herd and a 4-H lamb program. Kaitlyn started showing and competing in reining in 2014 and has earnings over 2000 dollars. She spent countless hours training with the best mentors of reining in Montana, California, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, and Oklahoma. Her biggest accomplishment was qualifying for National Reining Horse Rookie finals in Oklahoma on a Palomino stud called Wimpy Sparkles. Kaitlyn has been teaching riding lessons in both english and western disciplines for over 15 years. Her forte is teaching beginners to intermediate riders, horsemanship, building a confident and safe rider in and out of the arena, reining, and gymkhana events. Kaitlyn now resides in Belgrade with her two beautiful children, Adelynn and Boone. With her ranch and multi horse discipline experience, KMH Horse Consulting was born. The mission of KMH Consulting is to bridge the relationship between horse and rider to find the perfect match. With the consulting program, Kaitlyn can offer a better management system for the success of the owner and horse at home. To this day, Kaitlyn still enjoys giving riding lessons all around the Gallatin County Valley and surrounding areas.
